The Christmas period is over.

Most people have lived on cheese boards and chocolate for the past two weeks and to be quite honest I’m glad we can have a break from Turkey! We had a lovely Christmas but I never thought I would get bored of eating chocolate.

We decided to have a movie night and order a takeaway last night. Our go to is always Deliveroo, the website is easy to use, there are loads of restaurants to choose from and it always arrives quickly.

We have used Deliveroo quite a lot in the past few months. Especially when I broke the cooker (if you follow me on Instagram you’ll know what I’m talking about). Whilst decorating the kitchen I slipped on the worktop putting my foot through the glass and landing with a big thump on the worktop. I had a massive bruise to show for it! Unfortunately (or fortunately for me) we had to order a few takeaways. It was a lovely treat; no cooking, no washing up and I didn’t have to clean the cooker, but a little extreme. Don’t break your cookers, just order a takeaway!

Deliveroo is available all across the UK and is most likely in your area. The website is really easy to use and they have an app as well. Once you log in your address will be saved and you can search for local restaurants. There is a huge selection available including local cuisines, we have a Thai restaurant next to our house which is amazing but we can also get a curry from our favourite Indian restaurant which is 20 minutes drive from us. There are also lots of national favourites including Wagamama, Nando’s, Chicken Cottage and Wasabi to name a few. You can choose from burgers, chicken, pizza, chinese, sushi, Italian the list goes on! There is definitely something for everyone and food to suit all different budgets and dietary requirements.

For our takeaway we ordered Wagamama, a well-loved favourite with the whole family! The kids had noodles and katsu curry. I had my favourite, a Chicken Katsu Curry and Lee had Teriyaki Steak. The food arrived in recyclable containers which I thought were great. There is also an option to find restaurants with eco-friendly packaging and you can opt out of disposable cutlery.

When placing your order you will receive confirmation via the app/website and also via email with a predicted delivery time. You are able to track your driver and receive updates via whatsapp which I think is really clever. I was alerted when my food was being prepared, being collected and on its way. I received a message to let me know that my driver was outside and was given his name. It’s clear to see that Deliveroo provide the best delivery service from a takeaway provider.

The food arrived and was delicious! The kids were over the moon and it was just what we needed! Delicious food with no washing up and a lovely break from eating turkey!

Deliveroo have also just won the Mumsnet Rated badge with 89% of 130 Mumsnet testers stating they would recommend Deliveroo to friends or family, qualifying them for Mumsnet Rated.

Thank you for reading,
