All about the blogger interview – Miss Manypennies

This month I am taking part in All About The Blogger! I am sharing an interview from Hayley at Miss Manypennies. Thank you for reading and don’t forget to head over to Hayley’s blog and say hi! You can also follow Hayley on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

Hi Hayley, tell us a bit about yourself.

Hi, I’m Hayley and I blog at missmanypennies.com. I’m a stay at home Mum to 3 little ones (age 4,2 and 1). I was made redundant on maternity leave, so I started looking for ways to make money from home; I blog about that along with all things money saving, frugal living and parenting.

Q1. How would your best friend describe you?  (not sure then ask them)

Quiet, but funny.

Q2. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

How friendly and community based it is. There are so many lovely bloggers who are happy to help each other out 🙂

Q3. If you could change anything about blogging, what would it be?

How much it is about promotion as well as writing. I can be quite shy, so I’m not so good at the whole ‘Hey, come read my great blog post’ thing!

Q4. If you were invited to a Blogger’s Cocktail Party, which three bloggers would you invite and why?

Ooh that’s a tough one! I think I’d ask Fran from Whinge Whinge Wine, because I feel like she’d make me laugh lots. Carly from Mommy on Purpose because she seems like such a lovely, down to earth Mum and who’s done amazingly well at blogging and Emma from EmmaDrew.info to get inspired for all things money making.

Q5. What is the best blogging tip you have been given?

Choose your blogging battles. As a pretty new blogger, trying to fit blogging around 3 small people is actually a lot harder than I thought it would be, and I’ve definitely found myself trying to do everything all at once and ended up getting nothing done at all! Someone suggested to choose one thing at a time to focus on, and that really helps to not get overwhelmed and just give up.

Q6. When you aren’t blogging, where is your favourite place to visit for a day out?

I love the beach, I grew up by the sea but don’t live anywhere close now, so when we go back for visits it’s nice to walk along the seaside or take the kids for a paddle.

Q7. Tell us about your guilty pleasure.  It could be food, drink, a TV programme or your favourite band.

Sitting in with a Dominos pizza and binge watching Netflix.

Q8. If you knew you were going to be marooned on a desert island and could take 3 luxury items with you, what would they be?

Definitely a good book, although I’d struggle to choose one, chocolate, because, well chocolate and photos of my family.

Q9. What was the last good book you read?

Elinor Oliphant is completely fine by Gail Honeyman. Loved it, thought it was well-written, easy to read and a good mix of being touching and funny with a little bit of mystery. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for your next read!

Q10. Describe your perfect date night?

Getting out for a child-free dinner where we can actually talk without somebody yelling for ‘mummy/daddy/more food/their bum wiped etc!
