Peppa Pig Wooden Playhouse Review

Darcie is 18 months old now and is starting to develop favourite TV programmes, one of her favourites is Peppa Pig. This is due to Charlie putting it on for her, Charlie is five now but I’m sure he loves watching it too as he’s always “putting it on for Darcie” but sits and watched mesmerised.

When I was asked to review the Peppa Pig Wooden Playhouse I was delighted as I knew it would go down a treat with the kids.

Peppa Pig’s Playhouse arrived flat packed in a box, it’s quite heavy so I would definitely recommend putting it in a car or choosing home delivery. All of the pieces are numbered and the instructions are very easy to follow, you even get spare screws! All you need to put the set together is a screwdriver. I tried to put it together on my own but after after 30 minutes I had to get my husband to finish it off as I couldn’t get the screws in the right place but he managed to it with no trouble.

The playhouse also comes with a box of 25 accessories including chairs, tables, beds, wardrobes, an oven, washing machine, a telescope and so on! It also comes with a Peppa and George figure bit not Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig although they’re on the box, so I’ll purchase these separately. Darcie loves the little figures and holds them whilst oinking!

My first impression of the Playhouse is that it is quite costly for the quality, I think you are definitely paying more due to the character branding. It is very colourful and there is a lot of attention to detail but it chips quite easily and I’ve noticed wear and tear already.

I love the fact that it’s very interactive and engaging with several rooms which replicate the pig’s house from the show. The oven hob lights up and makes a noise, the bedside lamp in Peppa and George’s room plays a song and the computer screen also lights up.

The playhouse also features windows, doorways and even a balcony in Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig’s bedroom, I suspect as Darcie gets older she’ll understand role play more and use her imagination when playing with the house.

Charlie and Maisie both played with the house with Darcie reenacting some of the episodes they had seen and remembered.

The living room also has a mobile phone holder to play your own videos from your phone but this isn’t something the kids have tried out.

Overall I think the Playhouse is fantastic with its interactive furniture, bright detailed house with various rooms for the children to explore and play. Maisie, Charlie and Darcie loved playing together with the house and it was a hit. I would say it is quite pricey but it would make a lovely birthday or Christmas gift.

You can purchase a Peppa Pig Playhouse from Smyths. I’ll also be on the lookout for some more character figures too!

If you have any questions please pop them before.

Thank you for reading,
